Arlington, WA - July 19, 2010 - Citizens in Washington's 2^nd Congressional district are frustrated with the mounting federal deficit and fed up with the wasteful spending of Congressman Rick Larsen. Volunteers are constructing signs that state "Rick Larsen's Legacy: $13 trillion in debt. Had enough?" and displaying them throughout the 2^nd District.

"Our campaign for fiscal sanity is a grassroots movement and it is so encouraging", said John Koster, the Republican taking on Rick Larsen in the November election. "The hard working people of Washington are outraged by the fact that their children and grandchildren are going to be the ones responsible for paying down a debt that Rick Larsen has played a major role in creating."

Koster continued, "Rick Larsen's legacy is that of astronomical spending and growing government. Ten years ago when I ran against Rick Larsen times were good, and we had a budget surplus. I argued then for paying down the national debt.  Since those days, Larsen and his fellow liberals have squandered that money away. They have now brought us to a point where we face unconscionable debt and budget deficits with no end in sight to the wasteful spending. We need new leadership that will show fiscal restraint and be a good steward of the taxpayer's dollars."
